Purpose of this blog
In this age of increasing polarisation in the UK, people are blindly following party politics, causing division and removing reason from any discussion. This has been seen highlighted recently because of Brexit. The Labour Party seek to use it as a political exercise to frustrate the Tories and promote their own party, at the expense of the country. The Tories have now become the hard Brexit party, advocating for a type of Brexit nobody asked for, and using dangerous rhetoric to gain public support for no deal – which would be disastrous for the poorest in our society. In this blog, I will set out my own views, and try to cut through the divisions of left and right. Politics has become so divided that people are supporting left or right simply due to their need for an identity, rather than agreeing with the individual policies. I do not support any one political party – in fact I have voted differently in every election so far.

About me
I am a 20 year old living in the North West of England, having just completing a physics degree. Politics has always been a passion of mine, because of its ability to change the world for the better, but also its unfortunate ability to change the world for the worse. I have been on both the left and right of politics before, and try to take a balanced approach. In this age of ‘fake news’, and strong emotions on both sides of the debate, I want to encourage discussion and reason, rather than division.
